Program Seeks to Broaden College Participation

Primary tabs

The Salvation Army Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Atlanta is partnering with the Taco Bell Foundation to present "Graduate for Mas," a new program designed to provide guidance, support, resources, and access to scholarship funds that help young adults graduate on time and complete post-secondary education. This week, Georgia Tech hosted nearly 100 students on campus to hear from our students and other volunteers about weighty matters like time management, high school performance, and financial planning for college.

With many of the participants becoming the first in their families to attend college, special resources like professional graduation coaches and (?)access to contacts in the Georgia Student Finance Commission are important components of the program.

The event here on campus provides an immersive college campus experience. Although many of the participants live only miles from our campus, many have not had an opportunity to explore our campus or consider the possibility of studying at Georgia Tech.
