K-12 TEACHING CAREER WORKSHOP FOR PhDs and POST-DOCS
Hosted by Georgia Tech Pre-Teaching and the Emory University and Georgia Tech partnership Broadening Experiences in Scientific Training (BEST), this workshop is for PhD students and post-docs who are interested in teaching S.T.E.M. disciplines in K-12 education classrooms. Topics include alternate paths to teacher certification, options beyond certification, and human resource practices. A representative from Fulton County Schools Talent Acquisition, the Science department chair from a local high school, and possibly a recent PhD scientist who has launched a successful teaching career in the Atlanta area will be present. The workshop will also be video casted with students at Emory.*
