The following Georgia Tech employees and units have received honors in recent months:  

• Hermann Fritz, associate professor in the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering, has won the 2014 Plinius Medal from the European Geosciences Union.  

• Tom Conte, professor in the School of Computer Science, was elected the 2014 president-elect of the Computer Society of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. David Bader, professor in the School of Computational Science and Engineering and executive director of High-Performance Computing, was named to the organization’s Board of Governors.  
• Golf team coach Bruce Heppler is being inducted into the Golf Coaches Hall of Fame.
