WREK Radio Series Highlights Student Leadership on Campus

Primary tabs

This week, student leaders will take to WREK Radio to talk about what it’s like to pair rigorous academics with their roles around campus.

The three-part series will include interviews with leaders in the Student Government Association, Collegiate Panhellenic Council and Student Media.

“We wanted to give listeners a student’s voice on leadership at the Institute,” said Katie Flint, WREK Radio’s news director. “There are plenty of opportunities to get involved here, but in the midst of opportunity and academics, sometimes it’s difficult to find where to start, and how to start.”

Interviewees include:

  • Caroline Freeman, president, Collegiate Panhellenic Council
  • J.J. O’Brien, business director, WREK Radio
  • Nicholas Picon, president, undergraduate Student Government Association

Flint hopes to make this a recurring series to reinforce the WREK News mission of being a radio news source that’s by and for students.

Interviews will air every day the week of Oct. 28 – Nov. 1, on WREK 91.1FM, as well as stream online, at 7 a.m., 8 a.m., 9 a.m., 11 a.m., 2 p.m., and 4 p.m. Full interviews will also be posted online at www.facebook.com/WREKNews.
