Jonah Bokaer will serve as Georgia Tech's new Choreographer in Residence for the next two years. His residency is through the support of the Doris Duke Foundation. The Doris Duke Residency to Build Demand for the Arts supports "inventive ways to create and pilot methods for reaching the public and developing their interest in and access to the performing arts.

Bokaer will be working with Georgia Tech classes. His own work integrates technologies such as motion capture, mobile applications, and crowd sourcing into the choreographic process and performance. He will work with students and courses involved in app development, crowd management, digital and live interactive media.

"Jonah's specific background in bridging traditional disciplinary boundaries is bound to strengthen our efforts at the collaborative integration of humanistic perspectives in a technological world," said Dr. Richard Utz, Chair of the School of Literature, Media, and Communication, "He is a colleague who can help us speak knowledgeably and creatively about how he has brought these elements together in his own work."
