Marshall Willis' (MCRP '11) thesis most likely transportation revenue option for Atlanta

External News Details

Marshall Willis' masters thesis on a parking tax in Atlanta for Georgia Tech's School of City and Regional Planning is being studied by Atlanta City Councilman Aaron Watson's office as a potential way to encourage transit ridership and spur denser development. Estimates of how much the fee could raise range between $40 and $75 million per year. A second, less likely option to address Atlanta's transportation backlog would be a bond measure that would first need to go to voters.
