Emory + Children's Flow Cytometry Facility Seminar

Primary tabs

"Next Gen Cell-Sorting for Next Gen Sequence Detection Analysis"

Alice X. Wang
BD Biosciences
San Jose, CA

The seminar will present how the power of flow cytometry can be exploited to isolate, characterize, phenotype and purify single cells from multiple cell populations prior to gene expression profiling. We describe a complete workflow starting with heterogeneous cancer cells that can be isolated at rapid speed by single cell depositions into 96 well plates using the newly developed flow cytometer from BD Biosciences, the BD FACSJazz™. We demonstrate the use of new analytical tools such as index cell sorting that can help track those individual cells during and after sorting. Finally we demonstrate high fidelity of the sorted cells using single cell gene expression profiling on the NanoString nCounter™ platform.

Lunch will be provided 11:30am-12:00pm in the HSRB Cafeteria.
