Sustainable Atlanta Roundtable

Primary tabs

The Sustainable Atlanta Roundtable convenes on the first Friday of each month to discuss the region’s current environmental issues.

Atlanta Streets Alive has grown from a few thousand participants on Edgewood Avenue in 2010 to a projected 30,000 on Peachtree Street in 2013. The success of the event serves as a powerful reminder that there is demand for a walkable, bikeable, people-powered city. At the close of the event cars regain control of the streets, but participants are left inspired by the potential for walk and bikeability in Atlanta. This discussion will focus on how events like Atlanta Streets Alive can bridge the gap between public opinion and policy and how we can move towards a human-powered Atlanta.

Moderator: Matthew Garbett, Atlanta Bicycle Coalition
Panelist: Kevin Green, Midtown Alliance
