SOE Students Recognized at Student Honors Program

The annual Georgia Tech Student Honors Luncheon was held on Tuesday, April 16, 2013 to recognize undergraduate and graduate students who have contributed outstanding achievements to the Georgia Tech community.  Awards are presented from each of the five schools and across all majors at the college.  Six awards were presented to five students from the School of Economics for their personal achievements in academics and leadership.  The students were presented with a plaque of recognition and a monetary award from the Chair of the School of Economics, Dr. David Laband, at the luncheon.  The award winners and descriptions are listed below. Omicron Delta Epsilon Outstanding Student AwardOmicron Delta Epsilon and the School of Economics present these awards to an ODE senior and ODE graduate student who achieve the best overall academic record.  Each award consists of $150 and a plaque.Henan Li (graduate)Aleksandra Dabrowska (undergraduate) Excellence in Global Economics and Modern Languages AwardThis award is given annually to a GEML student who has demonstrated exemplary performance and outstanding achievement in both disciplines of this joint degree.  The award consists of an engraved plaque and a check for $300.Jordan Kor Outstanding Economics and International Affairs Student AwardThis award is presented to the economics and international affairs major who demonstrates not only outstanding scholarship, but also service to the School of Economics and the Sam Nunn School of International Affairs.  The award consists of $300 and a plaque.Aleksandra Dabrowska Outstanding Economics Student AwardThis award is presented to the economics major that demonstrates not only outstanding scholarship, but also service to the School of Economics.  The award consists of $300 and a plaque. Nabila Nazarali Mollie Newton Award for Excellence in EconomicsNamed in honor of the late Mollie Newton, this award is presented to a senior who has contributed to the School of Economics in academics, leadership, and service.  The award consists of $300 and a plaque.Kamna Bohra
