Design Conversation: Retrofitting Suburbia

Primary tabs

The suburbs aren't as suburban as they used to be.

Shifts in market demand are driving the reinhabitation, redevelopment and regreening of hundreds of vacant big boxes, dead malls, dying commercial strips an other under performing properties into more sustainable places.

During the Museum of Design Atlanta's Design Conversation on Wednesday, Oct. 3, Ellen Dunham-Jones, Professor of Architecture and Urban Design, will share ongoing research from her award winning 2009/2011 co-authored book, Retrofitting Suburbia: Urban Design Solutions for Redesigning Suburbs.

Advance tickets are available online and are $5 for students. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the lecture begins at 6:30 p.m.
