About us: CATEA is the Center for Assistive Technology and Environmental Access at Georgia Tech. A research unit of the College of Architecture, CATEA's scientists and engineers develop, evaluate, and disseminate information about new technologies for people with disabilities. Our current research focuses on "wheeled mobility" (wheelchair technology), workplace technologies, improving education and access to information, and ways to use architecture and product design to make the built environment accessible to people with all levels of ability.
