Online registration for 2012-2013 Georgia Tech parking permits will be available from April 15-June 15, 2012. The registration period is an opportunity for current students, faculty and staff to select their preferred parking areas for the upcoming academic year. Students can choose to have their permits mailed to them in July or to pick them up from the Parking and Transportation Services office in August.

Permit payments are not part of the registration process. All student permit payments will be sent to the Bursar’s office in July to be paid with student’s tuition and fees in August.

Registration is available for annual and carpool permits only. All other permit types will be available for sale on July 30, 2012, in the Parking and Transportation Services office. All customers should register for parking permits, including those who want to keep their current permits. To register, current students should log onto My Parking Account at www.pts.gatech.edu and follow the permit registration prompts. Freshmen students may purchase permits during FASET. Freshmen will need their BuzzCard and original vehicle registration to obtain permits.

Permit prices for 2012-2013 have not been determined. Please visit the Parking and Transportation website for permit pricing information as the registration date approaches.

Tips for Successful Permit Registration:

  • Register to “keep” your current permit assignment, which will guarantee you will receive a permit for your current parking location in 2012-2013.
  • If you want to change permit assignments during registration, choose all five (5) location preferences and a default location (either E81-Tech Square deck or W02-Student Center deck). This will increase your chances for being assigned to one of your preferred locations.
  • Choose parking locations wisely to avoid making changes in the fall. An administrative fee of up to $25 will be charged to anyone who wants to change their parking location after permits have been assigned in July.
  • Pay all citation fines before registration ends through your My Parking Account at pts.gatech.edu. Customers who register but have outstanding citations will have their permits held in the Parking and Transportation Services office until fines have been paid.
  • To avoid standing in long lines to pick up your permit, select to have it mailed to you during registration. Permits cannot be mailed to campus addresses, which include academic departments, campus buildings, Graduate Learning Center, Family Housing, PO boxes in the Student Center, and residence hall addresses. International addresses are not recommended.
  • Participate in Parking Permit Registration Week (April 16-20) to learn more about registration first-hand! View details at www.pts.gatech.edu.

For Carpool Captains:

  • Gather potential members’ names and email addresses before you submit your carpool application.
  • Remind members to have their vehicle registration handy before they accept their carpool invitation.
  • Apply early for the best chance to receive your preferred parking location.
