ECE Students Advance to 2012 InVenture Prize Finals

Two teams with students from the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) are finalists in the 2012 InVenture Prize Competition. The event will take place Tuesday, March 13 at 7 pm in the Ferst Center for the Arts on the Georgia Tech campus and will be televised live on Georgia Public Broadcasting.

Among the six finalists are two teams with ECE students. They include:

Stylii: An extraordinarily precise and pressure-sensitive capacitive stylus. The team is made up of Matthew Stoddard, an industrial design major from Clarksville, Tenn., and Christopher Vollo, an electrical engineering major from Alpharetta, Ga. Watch their interview with GPB.

DEfT Pad: A touchscreen device that gives guitarists the functionality of a distortion panel. The team is made up of David Burke, a computer engineering major from Canton, Ga., and electrical engineering majors Bradley Keller of Gainesville, Ga.; Sarosh Ali Shahbuddin of Rock Hill, S.C.; Michael Barrington Stone of Augusta, Ga.; and Jarred Vallbracht of Covington, Ga.
