Intro to Patent Search - Intellectual Property in Academia Seminar Series

Session Two of the Intellectual Property in Academic Seminar Series - Introduction to Patent Search - will take place Wednesday, Feb. 22 from 4:30 p.m. - 6 p.m. in the Homer Rice Center, Library 2 East. 

The seminar covers the basics of patent documentation, classification, and public web-based search tools, including U.S. patent and international patent resources. Through demos and hands-on practice, students will learn how to conduct a prelimary patent search using the 7-step strategies. Useful patent research tools, such as Public West and CASSIS, will also be discussed as time permits. 

The Georgia Tech Library is the only Patent and Trademark Resource Center (PTRC) in the State of Georgia. The Library keeps all available patents issued in the U.S. since 1790 on file. The Library also provides free training to inventors, students, and researchers.
