Georgia Tech Research & Innovation Conference (GTRIC)

The Georgia Tech Research and Innovation Conference (GTRIC) will convene graduate students presenting their research to the Tech community. The annual event gives graduate students the opportunity to compete for monetary prizes for their research, in order to fund continued research or travel expenses for students to continue to make presentations across the country.

This year’s conference will award up to $100,000 in prizes, including the Georgia Tech Edison Prize, a $15,000 award that goes to the winner of the event's Innovation Competition. A new addition to awards this year is one for $5,000 and one for $10,000 for projects focused on innovations in the area of forest bioeconomy. Master's students will also compete for 30 travel grants of up to $1,500 each; Ph.D. students will compete for five fellowship awards of $5,000 each.

The conference schedule is as follows:


  • 2 p.m. — Registration
  • 3 p.m. — First poster session
  • 4:30 p.m. — Reception
  • 5 p.m. — Second poster session
  • 6:30 p.m. — Reception
  • 7:30 p.m. — Awards Ceremony (at the Ferst Center)
