{"92811":{"#nid":"92811","#data":{"type":"event","title":"(08-1030) Prof. Nick Hud, Chemistry GT","body":[{"value":"\u003Cp\u003EProf. Nick Hud, Chemistry \u0026amp; Biochemistry, Georgia Tech\n\u003C\/p\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003ESearching for the Origin of RNA\n\u003C\/p\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003EMost current proposals for the origin of life include the hypothesis that RNA existed before the advent of coded proteins. However, it is not clear how the first RNA polymers could have formed or replicated without the aid of enzymes. We hypothesize that RNA evolved from a proto-RNA polymer that was structurally similar to RNA, but much easier to form under prebiotic conditions.
