Recent progress towards an improved understanding of\nconfined and interfacial water will be illustrated through theoretical and\ncomputational studies of the thermodynamics and kinetics of capillary\nevaporation, the solubility and molecular conformations of long-chain \u003Cem\u003En\u003C\/em\u003E-alkanes in water, and the structure\nand phase behavior of water in confinement by heterogeneous surfaces.
