The award was presented recently at the NanoTX'06 conference in Dallas. Temelso was selected as the winner from a pool of applicants representing over twenty countries. The award recognizes high-accuracy computational computational chemistry research by Temelso on the topic of hydrogen abstraction reactions, which are important in a number of nanotechnology applications.

This work was performed in the laboratory of Professor David Sherrill and in collaboration with Professor Ralph Merkle (College of Computing) and Dr. Robert Freitas (Institute for Molecular Manufacturing). The Foresight Nanotechnology Institute is also the sponsor of the Feynman prize in nanotechnology.
