{"88091":{"#nid":"88091","#data":{"type":"news","title":"Foresight Nanotechnology Institute Gives Award","body":[{"value":"\u003Cp\u003EBerhane Temelso, a graduate student from the School of Chemistry and Biochemistry, has been awarded the Foresight Nanotechnology Institute\u0027s Distinguished Student Award for 2006.  \n\u003C\/p\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003EThe award was presented recently at the NanoTX\u002706 conference in Dallas.  Temelso was selected as the winner from a pool of applicants representing over twenty countries. The award recognizes high-accuracy computational computational chemistry research by Temelso on the topic of hydrogen abstraction reactions, which are important in a number of nanotechnology applications. \n\u003C\/p\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003EThis work was performed in the laboratory of Professor David Sherrill and in collaboration with Professor Ralph Merkle (College of Computing) and Dr. Robert Freitas (Institute for Molecular Manufacturing).
