{"79501":{"#nid":"79501","#data":{"type":"news","title":"Wreck Camp Seeks Tradition-Minded Students for Summer 2012","body":[{"value":"\u003Cp\u003EMany students\nknow the stories of Sideways, Junior\u2019s and the Mickey Mouse clock, but it takes\na while on campus to grasp the full scope of Georgia Tech\u2019s many well-loved\ntraditions.\u003C\/p\u003E\n\n\u003Cp\u003EThis summer, the\nOffice of New Student and Sophomore Programs launches Wreck Camp, an extended\norientation and traditions camp for incoming students. Wreck Camp will provide\nstudents with more information about the Tech community and campus, teach\ntraditions and provide activities focused on leadership development and\ndiversity. The three-day, two-night experience will be an additional\nopportunity for new students to meet and get to know each other in a summer\ncamp-style environment before beginning classes at Tech.\u003C\/p\u003E\n\n\u003Cp\u003EWreck Camp is\nnow accepting applications for students to serve on its director staff and\nassist in the planning and implementation of the inaugural camp this summer. Open\npositions include director of membership relations, director of participant\nrelations, director of community outreach and director of operations. Students\nmust commit to working with Wreck Camp from Feb. 1 through Sept. 1. A dense\nknowledge of Tech traditions is not required, as it will be integrated into\nWreck Camp training.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EApplications are\ndue Friday, Jan. 27, at 4 p.m. and will be followed with interviews the next\nweek.
