{"73882":{"#nid":"73882","#data":{"type":"news","title":"Computational Media Student Wins Honors for GT Cable Network","body":[{"value":"\u003Cp\u003EThe work of Computational Media major, Austin Gasaway, garnered five Pixie Awards for the Georgia Tech Cable Network (GTCN).\u0026nbsp; \u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003ESponsored by the American Pixel Academy (APA),\u0026nbsp;a coalition of professionals and educators in the field of electronic moving pixels, the Pixie Awards honor outstanding work in animation, effects, and motion graphics in the\u0026nbsp;U.S. and Canada.\u0026nbsp;Gasaway is a student\u0026nbsp;assistant at GTCN and worked under the\u0026nbsp;direction of GTCN\u0027s\u0026nbsp;Scott Sergent on projects ranging from visual effects to motion graphics to opening titles. \u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003E\u201cI plan to pursue motion graphic design as a career,\u0022 said\u0026nbsp;Gasaway.\u0026nbsp;\u0022After graduation I want to go freelance and design graphics for various companies around the world. I sometimes think about the work I do at GTCN as practice for the real world, but I know it is more than that.
