This year\u0027s theme, in connection with last summer\u0027s Olympic Games in Beijing, is \u0022Having a Ball with Chemistry,\u0022 which explores the chemistry of sports.  Chemistry is connected to sports through its role in developing new materials (shoes, clothing, equipment, etc.) and improving performance (metabolism, nutrition, etc).\n\u003C\/p\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003EGeorgia Tech Event:The Georgia Tech Women in Chemistry will host students from four local high schools for a National Chemistry Week outreach event on Wednesday, October 22.  High school students will interact with GT faculty and students in lectures, demonstrations, hands-on labs and a student panel.
