"The role of the Center for Quality Growth and Regional Development's contribution in the education and practice of students, alumni and friends has been enlarged with the addition of the Glatting Jackson Memorial Library," said Ross. "The gift will expand both the holdings and the research capability of those using the library.

The dedication was attended by several members of the Glatting family, as well as representatives of the Glatting Jackson firm, Georgia Tech's College of Architecture, and the Atlanta planning community. City of Atlanta Mayor Shirley Franklin spoke at the event. She offered her appreciation to the family and expressed her hope that, supported by resources like the newly named library, Georgia Tech can work in partnership with the City to help shape the future of Atlanta.

According to Dr. Ross, "the role of alumni in supporting the continued excellence in education has never been more critically important." The Library will become a critical resource for faculty and students as they undertake research and projects aimed at understanding and fostering quality growth in the southeastern United States and beyond.

The Glatting Jackson Memorial Library at CQGRD is located in Technology Square at 760 Spring Street, Suite 213, Atlanta. It includes national and international journals and books on urban planning, regionalism, and transportation, as well as materials from CQGRD-sponsored conferences and professional development workshops. The Library also includes a collection of Urban Land Institute (ULI) publications. In 2004, the Atlanta District Council of ULI donated this collection, subsequently published books and electronic resources, and a three-year license that provides access to ULI case studies of development projects from all over the world.
