  <title><![CDATA[CQGRD Initiates New Projects]]></title>
  <body><![CDATA[<p>The Center for Quality Growth and Regional Development (CQGRD) continues to conduct applied research on the Atlanta BeltLine, the future 22-mile loop of transit, trails, and redevelopment circling downtown Atlanta. CQGRD is undertaking three unique projects to identify and apply 'Best Practices' to the BeltLine project: development of a Decision Support Tool for Atlanta BeltLine Inc. and the BeltLine Tax Allocation District Advisory Committee, assessment of development opportunities at 10th Street and Monroe Drive along the BeltLine, and an impact assessment of potential health benefits of the Eastside Trail, which is the first leg of the BeltLine's primary trail system. Meanwhile, the team is also researching potential impacts of a regional transportation SPLOSTs for the Georgia Department of Transportation, in coordination with Georgia Tech's University Transportation Center.</p>]]></body>
