Adhesive Signature-based, Label-free Isolation of Human Pluripotent Stem Cells

The ability to rapidly and efficiently isolate undifferentiated human induced pluripotent stem cells (hiPSCs) from parental or differentiated cells is critical for stem cell research and relies primarily on manual isolation. We demonstrate distinct ‘adhesive signature’ of hiPSCs compared to contaminating cells and exploited this to efficiently isolate undifferentiated hiPSCs with >98% purity using controlled fluid forces in microfluidic devices.

Towards More Effective Systems Biology: Approaches to Discovering Protein-Metabolite Regulatory Interactions in Yeast

Metabolic engineering efforts are often hampered by complications arising from unforeseen interactions within the host organism. We seek to effect a broad-scale identification of protein-metabolite interactions in S. cerevisiae using small-molecule microarrays coupled with GC-MS-based binding assays.
