This session will provide information about the routes to post-graduation work
authorization for international students.&nbsp;
The session will focus on the H-1B “work visa” and briefly address some
other options.&nbsp; </p>

Audience: &nbsp;This workshop is open to all international students, and
students who graduate this Spring are particularly encouraged to attend. Please
attend the entire session if you have questions about the H1-B process.</p>

<p>Overview of Permanent Residence
(“green cards”) for International Faculty, Staff, and Students<br />
- Thursday, October 20<sup>th</sup> 2011 10:30am to 11:45am</p><p>

This session will provide information about the routes to permanent residence
(a “green card”). &nbsp;It will briefly address family-based immigration but
focus on employment-based immigration. &nbsp;We will discuss the most common
routes to permanent residence through employment and how one chooses the most
appropriate route. &nbsp;In addition to providing an introduction to the labor
certification process, the session will describe the immigrant petition, the
adjustment of status application, and the required supporting documentation.
The process for an accompanying spouse and children will be addressed.&nbsp; The session will also provide a brief
overview of the options available to researchers who do not have permanent
positions, for instance, post-docs.</p>]]></body>
