Trapani is president and chief executive officer of The Redwoods Group, an\ninsurance provider dedicated to protecting YMCAs, Jewish Community Centers and\nnonprofit resident camps around the nation. He also is president of The\nRedwoods Group Foundation.\u003C\/p\u003E\n\n\u003Cp\u003E\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EPrior\nto forming The Redwoods Group in 1997, Trapani was executive vice president of\nBurlington Insurance Group, senior vice president and chief underwriting\nofficer of Coregis Insurance Group and held senior leadership positions at Great\nAmerican Insurance Companies and the Chubb Group of Insurance Companies.\nTrapani also started the first statewide health maintenance organization in New\nJersey.\n\n\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003E\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EA\n1979 Duke University graduate with a bachelor\u2019s degree in political science,\nTrapani is a regular speaker on sustainability and corporate social\nresponsibility at Duke University\u2019s Fuqua School of Business. Trapani is also\nchair of the Community Advisory Board of North Carolina Public Radio and is a\nmember of the Advisory Committee for Duke\u2019s CASE (Center for Advancement of\nSocial Entrepreneurship) that promotes the entrepreneurial pursuit of social\nimpact through business.\n\n\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003E\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\n\n\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cem\u003EAbout\nthe Impact Speaker Series\u003C\/em\u003E\u003C\/p\u003E\n\n\u003Cp\u003ESince 2002, the IMPACT Speaker Series has brought highly successful business\nleaders from a variety of industries to campus to share their experiences and\ngive advice to students and other entrepreneurs on topics ranging from\n\u0022building a venture around intellectual capital\u0022 to \u0022successful\nentrepreneurship in large organizations\u0022 and \u0022socially responsible\nleadership\u0022. \u003C\/p\u003E\n\n\u003Cp\u003EThe weekly series provides Georgia Tech students, alumni and the Atlanta\nbusiness community an opportunity to network and learn from successful\nentrepreneurs, venture capitalists, and notable business and non-profit\nleaders.
