Take time during National Preparedness Month to get\norganized.  By taking steps ahead of time you can greatly increase\nyour ability and responsiveness during disasters.  The Georgia Tech\nPolice Department Office of Emergency Preparedness recommends that\nstudents, faculty and staff take the following 5 steps:\u003C\/p\u003E\n\n\u003Col\u003E\n  \u003Cli\u003EPay attention to emergency alerts. You can register through \u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/passport.gatech.edu\/\u0022\u003EPassport\u003C\/a\u003E to receive Georgia Tech Emergency Notification System (GTENS)\tmessages.  The Institute also issues alerts through the Outdoor Siren Warning System, social media, digital signs, campus cable network and Wrek Radio.\n  \u003C\/li\u003E\n  \u003Cli\u003EKnow how to respond.  Sign up to take \u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/www.police.gatech.edu\/emergencypreparedness\/training\/\u0022\u003EEmergency Preparedness courses\u003C\/a\u003E.  All training is free and typically lasts between 1 and 2 hours.\n  \u003C\/li\u003E\n  \u003Cli\u003EHave a plan.
