Pulitzer-prize winning author Margaret Edson will speak on Wednesday, 10/21, 2:30-4pm, in the DramaTech Theatre on the GT main campus. Her talk will be sponsored by Literature, Media, and Communication; the John H. Martinson Honors Program; and the Women, Science, and Technology Learning Community. 

Ms. Edson's talk is titled "Some Voices, Some Rooms" and she will consider "How do physical spaces create what we are able to think and say?  Or, how do spaces silence us?"  

Speaker biography: Margaret Edson was born in Washington, DC, in 1961.  Between earning degrees in history and literature, she worked in the cancer and AIDS inpatient unit of a research hospital.  Her play Wit won the Pulitzer Prize in 1991, and the HBO film won the Emmy Award for best drama in 2001. Wit has received hundreds of performances in dozens of languages and is widely used as a teaching tool. Edson has been a public school teacher since 1992.  

DramaTech Director Melissa Foulger will introduce Ms. Edson, Professor Perry Guevara (LMC) and Professor Jennifer Singh (HSOC) will offer remarks, and there will be an opportunity for the audience to ask questions or make comments.
