From women\u2019s health and accessibility to artificial intelligence and manufacturing, founders will showcase companies addressing real-world challenges across industries.\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\u003C\/div\u003E\u003Cdiv\u003E\u003Cp\u003EAmong them are two startups whose journeys show just how far an idea can go.\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\u003C\/div\u003E\u003Cdiv\u003E\u003Ch5\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EFrom Demo Day Attendees to Founders\u003C\/strong\u003E\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/h5\u003E\u003C\/div\u003E\u003Cdiv\u003E\u003Cp\u003EFor Yaashmita Senthilnathan, a second-year student in the College of Sciences and the Ivan Allen College of Liberal Arts, and Srija Konathala, a second-year student in the College of Computing, this year\u2019s Demo Day represents a full-circle moment.\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\u003C\/div\u003E\u003Cdiv\u003E\u003Cp\u003EIn 2025, the roommates attended Demo Day together, walking through the exhibits and meeting student founders. \u201cWe really enjoyed Demo Day,\u201d Konathala said. \u201cWe met some other students and thought, \u2018Imagine if that could be us?\u2019\u201d\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\u003C\/div\u003E\u003Cdiv\u003E\u003Cp\u003EA year later, it is.\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\u003C\/div\u003E\u003Cdiv\u003E\u003Cp\u003EThey are now building Alva, a women\u2019s health technology startup that combines AI and consulting to help biotech and medtech companies improve product testing.\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\u003C\/div\u003E\u003Cdiv\u003E\u003Cp\u003EThrough Georgia Tech\u2019s \u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/www.startupexchangegt.org\/\u0022 rel=\u0022noreferrer noopener\u0022 target=\u0022_blank\u0022\u003EStartup Exchange\u003C\/a\u003E and as finalists in the \u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/www.cc.gatech.edu\/klaus-startup-challenge\u0022 rel=\u0022noreferrer noopener\u0022 target=\u0022_blank\u0022\u003EKlaus Startup Challenge\u003C\/a\u003E, the founders refined their ideas, pivoted when needed, and eventually launched Alva through CREATE-X.\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\u003C\/div\u003E\u003Cdiv\u003E\u003Cp\u003EThe team has already secured pilot partnerships with CREATE-X startups from previous cohorts, Deleon and EstroSense, enabling them to validate their platform while helping those companies test the usability of their products.\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\u003C\/div\u003E\u003Cdiv\u003E\u003Cp\u003ENow, instead of walking through Demo Day imagining themselves as founders, they\u2019ll be among those showcasing what they\u2019ve built.\u0026nbsp;\u201cGoing from attending Demo Day to now being a part of it honestly shows us how far we\u2019ve come,\u201d Senthilnathan said.\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Ch5\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EMaking Gaming More Accessible\u003C\/strong\u003E\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/h5\u003E\u003C\/div\u003E\u003Cdiv\u003E\u003Cp\u003EFor Akos Vida, a second-year student in the Daniel Guggenheim School of Aerospace Engineering, the idea behind AdaptaPlay began with a gamer who wanted to play racing video games but couldn\u2019t use a traditional controller.\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\u003C\/div\u003E\u003Cdiv\u003E\u003Cp\u003EThe gamer had cerebral palsy, and the experience inspired Vida to develop adaptive gaming technology for people with limited hand function.\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\u003C\/div\u003E\u003Cdiv\u003E\u003Cp\u003EAdaptaPlay has tested its technology with organizations including the Shepherd Center, AbleGamers Foundation, APAC in Mexico City, and Georgia Tech\u2019s Tools for Life initiative. Vida has also been selected as a speaker for the TEDxAtlanta Youth conference in October.\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\u003C\/div\u003E\u003Cdiv\u003E\u003Cp\u003EThrough CREATE-X Startup Launch, he continued refining both the product and his approach to building a company. \u201cEver day, you You believe more and more that your project is possible,\u201d Vida said. \u201cThe guest speakers and mentors make help you realize, that when broken down,you realize that building something like this can actually happen.
