The Georgia Tech campus community is invited to join Belonging & Student Support in the Midtown Ballroom at Exhibition Hall for Crosscurrents: Jubilee on Thursday, June 18 from 12 p.m. - 3 p.m. in recognition of the national holiday, Juneteenth. 

Rooted in the theme "Community Restoration in Progress," the event will embody the traditions and shared belonging and connection of a family reunion.  

The afternoon will feature: 

  • Keynote & reflection: The keynote speaker will lead a reflection on our role in building and sustaining strong communities. 
  • Textile art activity: An interactive textile art experience will explore themes of renewal and collective growth.  
  • Lunch: A curated soul food lunch will feature a historically inspired menu connected to the event’s cultural themes.  
  • Games: A Spades, UNO, and Dominoes tournament will offer giveaways and educate on traditions that foster connection across communities.
