We hypothesize that disturbed, oscillatory shear conditions (OS) present on the fibrosa stimulate ECs to modify mRNAs and miRNAs inducing disease. Our goal and the focus of this talk is the identification of mRNAs and miRNAs differentially regulated by OS and laminar shear (LS) in AVECs from the fibrosa (fHAVECs) and ventricularis (vHAVECs).\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003EHassan Masoud\u003C\/strong\u003E\u0026nbsp;- Advisor, Alexander Alexeev\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003E\u0022Controlled Release of Nanoparticles from Responsive Microgel Capsules\u0022\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003ESteady and burst-like release of encapsulated nanoparticles from responsive microgel capsules can be induced by capsule swelling and deswelling. Steady release is controlled by particle diffusion thought swollen gel network, whereas fast release is enabled by the flow of encapsulated solvent from shrinking microcapsules. The latter can be facilitated by micro-rods embedded inside micro-carriers that stretch the membrane and prevent pore sealing.\u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003EThe Graduate and Post-Doc (GaP) Seminar Series is a weekly event of research presentations by two graduate students or post-docs conducting bio-related research.\u0026nbsp; The series is organized and sponsored by the Parker H.
