The 12th annual Georgia Tech \u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/k12inventure.gatech.edu\u0022 target=\u0022_blank\u0022\u003EK-12 InVenture Prize State\u003C\/a\u003E Finals competition will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EThe press is welcome to attend and interview students, teachers, and judges starting at 1:30 p.m. An awards ceremony will take place at 4 p.m., where student inventors will be singled out for honors in various categories.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003ESome of the student inventions in this year\u2019s competition include:\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cul\u003E\u003Cli\u003Ea project that turns kudzu vine into a renewable fuel source;\u003C\/li\u003E\u003Cli\u003Ea language translator bracelet;\u003C\/li\u003E\u003Cli\u003ENeuro Note, an early dementia prediction app;\u003C\/li\u003E\u003Cli\u003Ea 3D-printed prosthetic leg;\u003C\/li\u003E\u003Cli\u003EChicken Poop Remover, an innovative tool for cleaning chicken coops; and\u003C\/li\u003E\u003Cli\u003Ean app to track stray pets on the loose.\u003C\/li\u003E\u003C\/ul\u003E\u003Cp\u003EThe event is a great opportunity to capture photos and video of students presenting their inventions and explaining their ideas to a panel of judges.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003E\u201cAs always, State Finals will be an amazing opportunity to see young student inventors and entrepreneurs,\u201d said Danyelle Larkin, director of K-12 InVenture Prize. \u201cWe see our students working on projects that address some of the most important issues facing society. We have lots of returning students who keep refining their inventions with more and more expertise and advanced knowledge of materials and chemical processes. We are seeing younger and younger students with great ideas of their own, trying to solve the problems they see in their lives.
