  <body><![CDATA[<p>Join Georgia Tech on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM at the Historic Academy of Medicine for "So be it. See to it! 50 Years of Octavia E. Butler," a day-long celebration of Butler’s life and literary legacy.</p><p>The symposium features:</p><ul><li><strong>Undergraduate Research Showcase</strong> – Explore posterboards presenting original student research on Butler’s works.</li><li><strong>Anyanwu Patterns Art Installation</strong> – Olamma Oparah’s immersive visual installation inspired by <em>Wild Seed</em>, on display all day.</li><li><strong>Biographers’ Panel</strong> – Insights from Gerry Canavan, Kendra Parker, and Susana Morris on Butler’s life and influence.</li><li><strong>Roundtable: Peoples’ Instinctive Travels</strong> – Artists and filmmakers discuss Butler’s influence on contemporary Black speculative art.</li><li><strong>Keynote: From Page to Panel</strong> – Damian Duffy and John Jennings discuss adapting Butler’s fiction into graphic novels.</li></ul><p>Books by Butler will be available for purchase from Charis Books &amp; More, and parking is behind the Academy of Medicine. Breakfast and lunch are included for attendees.</p>]]></body>
