This academic year, two Georgia Tech students and alumni were selected for Fulbright U.S. Student Program awards, and two were named as alternates. Among this year’s recipients is alumna Nethra Rammohan, who serves as an English teaching assistant at a preparatory high school in Zurich, Switzerland. Rammohan, who earned a Bachelor of Science in Literature, Media, and Communication in 2021, credits Georgia Tech’s Prestigious Fellowships Advising team for guiding her through the application process.

“Not only does Fulbright provide students a way to conduct research, study, or gain valuable teaching experience,” Brunner said, “but the program also offers a unique chance to engage and immerse in other cultures and communities.”
To expand access and encourage more student participation, Georgia Tech launched a summer Fulbright Application Boot Camp, contributing to an increase in applications for the 2025-26 cycle and even greater growth for 2026-27.
Established in 1946, the Fulbright Program is the U.S. government’s premier international academic exchange program, providing opportunities for exceptional Americans and participants from 160 countries and locations to study, teach, and conduct research abroad. Fulbright alumni work to make a positive impact on their communities, sectors, and the world and have included 44 heads of state or government, 63 Nobel Laureates, 93 Pulitzer Prize winners, 83 MacArthur Fellows, and countless leaders from all sectors and industries across the U.S. and around the world.
