{"68794":{"#nid":"68794","#data":{"type":"news","title":"Web-Based Effort Certification for Sponsored Projects Launches","body":[{"value":"\u003Cp\u003EIf your work involves a grant, contract or other agreement with a Federal agency, listen up \u2014 life is about to get a bit easier.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EOn July 8, the Office of Grants and Contracts Accounting launched a new web-based application for all faculty, staff and students who are required to annually certify their salary distribution on sponsored and related support projects. In the past, Georgia Tech has relied up on a laborious paper process to comply with these effort certification requirements. The new electronic format will provide both employees and unit financial managers with a quick and easy way to review information and submit their certifications, providing reasonable assurance to sponsors that they are receiving the grant effort they were promised and for which they are being charged.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003E\u201cThe Electronic Annual Statement of Reasonableness (eASR) will improve overall compliance by providing a means of capturing electronic signatures, distributing and collecting reports while allowing for the electronic storage of auditable documents,\u201d said Amir Rahnamay-Azar, senior vice president for administration and finance.\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EThe eASR is available for fiscal year 2011 certifications, which must be submitted by August 31. Faculty and staff members who must complete the eASR should have received an email from Grants and Contracts Accounting that includes a link to the statement.
