Never provide sensitive information through these methods. Legitimate businesses and organizations will never ask for your personal information through email or text.\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\u003C\/div\u003E\u003Cdiv\u003E\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003ETwo-Factor Authentication Scams: \u003C\/strong\u003ENever approve \u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/oit.gatech.edu\/two-factor-authentication\u0022\u003EDuo\u202ftwo-factor authentication\u003C\/a\u003E requests you did not\u202finitiate.\u202fIf you receive an unexpected prompt, deny it\u202fimmediately.\u202f \u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\u003C\/div\u003E\u003Cdiv\u003E\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EShop Smart and Secure\u003C\/strong\u003E: Use only reputable websites that you know and trust. Type URLs directly into your browser instead of clicking on links in messages, especially from unfamiliar retailers. Always verify the legitimacy of a company before supplying your financial information, such as credit\/debit card numbers. Also, if an offer seems too good to be true \u2014 it often is.\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\u003C\/div\u003E\u003Cdiv\u003E\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EUse a Credit Card for Online Transactions\u003C\/strong\u003E: There are laws to limit your liability for fraudulent credit card charges, but you may not have the same level of protection when using debit cards. Always check your card statements for fraudulent or unrecognizable charges.
