The objective of the proposed research is to develop algorithmic and statistical frameworks for mitigating and leveraging uncertainties in electric power systems. Rather than purely treating uncertainty as an obstacle, we present tools that leverage randomness as a computational resource to improve how we operate and plan the grid. This proposal demonstrates applications of this concept to network topology learning and design, where purposefully added randomness to both problems improves their conditioning and tractability, respectively.]]>
