Despite significant theoretical and experimental progress, quantum engineering lacks intuitive frameworks comparable to classical systems. This thesis addresses that gap by analyzing phase-shift keying modulated two-mode squeezed vacuum states over bosonic channels and evaluating their performance relative to optimal limits. It further explores a covert communication protocol with effective entanglement consumption while preserving optimal rates. Future tasks include studying protocol robustness to non-i.i.d. phase TMSV source, extending analysis to round-trip entangled models, and developing security proofs for quantum memory-free secure direct communication.\u003C\/p\u003E","format":"limited_html"}],"field_summary_sentence":[{"value":"Protocols for Efficient Covert Communications and Quantum Secure Direct Communications"}],"uid":"28475","created_gmt":"2025-10-27 20:40:23","changed_gmt":"2025-10-27 20:41:57","author":"Daniela Staiculescu","boilerplate_text":"","field_publication":"","field_article_url":"","field_event_time":{"event_time_start":"2025-11-06T12:00:00-05:00","event_time_end":"2025-11-06T14:00:00-05:00","event_time_end_last":"2025-11-06T14:00:00-05:00","gmt_time_start":"2025-11-06 17:00:00","gmt_time_end":"2025-11-06 19:00:00","gmt_time_end_last":"2025-11-06 19:00:00","rrule":null,"timezone":"America\/New_York"},"location":"Room 423, TSRB","extras":[],"groups":[{"id":"434371","name":"ECE Ph.D. Proposal Oral Exams"}],"categories":[],"keywords":[{"id":"102851","name":"Phd proposal"},{"id":"1808","name":"graduate students"}],"core_research_areas":[],"news_room_topics":[],"event_categories":[{"id":"1788","name":"Other\/Miscellaneous"}],"invited_audience":[{"id":"78771","name":"Public"}],"affiliations":[],"classification":[],"areas_of_expertise":[],"news_and_recent_appearances":[],"phone":[],"contact":[],"email":[],"slides":[],"orientation":[],"userdata":""}}}
