The association, founded in 1947, is one of the oldest and most prestigious organizations in its field.\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\u003C\/div\u003E\u003Cdiv\u003E\u003Cp\u003E\u201cI am honored and humbled to be selected as the president-elect of the IARIW and follow in the footsteps of the distinguished scholars who have led the association in the past,\u201d said Dhongde. \u201cI hope to serve the association by increasing its impact and attracting more younger scholars to the field of economic measurement.\u201d\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\u003C\/div\u003E\u003Cdiv\u003E\u003Cp\u003EThe association, which has members in 80 countries, is dedicated to advancing understanding of income and wealth, particularly ways of measuring and analyzing national income, income distribution, and systems of economic and social accounting and their use for policy.\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\u003C\/div\u003E\u003Cdiv\u003E\u003Cp\u003EDhongde serves on the editorial board of the association\u2019s flagship journal, the \u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/onlinelibrary.wiley.com\/journal\/14754991\u0022 rel=\u0022noreferrer noopener\u0022 target=\u0022_blank\u0022\u003E\u003Cem\u003EReview of Income and Wealth\u003C\/em\u003E\u003C\/a\u003E. She also has presented papers and organized sessions at many of the association\u2019s conferences. In March 2025, she presented a paper on multidimensional inequality among the elderly in the United States at a special conference organized by the association in Tokyo. In her new role, she is helping organize the \u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/iariw.org\/39th-iariw-general-conference\/\u0022 rel=\u0022noreferrer noopener\u0022 target=\u0022_blank\u0022\u003E39th IARIW General Conference\u003C\/a\u003E, which will take place in Brussels, Aug. 24 \u2013 28, 2026.
