He was awarded the 2011 Nobel Prize in Physics, the Breakthrough Prize in Physics, Einstein Medal, Gruber and Shaw Prizes, and a MacArthur \u201cGenius\u201d Grant for his leadership in the High-z Supernova Search Team\u2019s discovery that the expansion rate of the universe is accelerating.
