Our severe weather threat changes in the summer, with much of the threat coming from isolated and scattered afternoon thunderstorms and showers. While most of these storms are not severe, they often produce frequent lightning and heavy downpours. Hail and severe wind gusts are possible, but the tornado threat is typically low.
