The initiative convened voices from government, academia, civil society, and the private sector to co-create an ethical, inclusive and forward-looking roadmap for AI in Panama.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cblockquote\u003E\u003Cp\u003EWe\u2019re moving forward with one of the most exciting and important processes for Panama\u2019s future: the development of our National Artificial Intelligence Strategy,\u201d said \u003Cstrong\u003EFranklin A. Morales\u003C\/strong\u003E, Head of International Technical Cooperation Panama\u0027s Secretariat for Science, Technology and Innovation at SENACY, in a public statement. \u201cGeorgia Tech\u2019s expertise is helping us shape a strategy that\u2019s both ambitious and grounded in global best practices.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003C\/blockquote\u003E\u003Cp\u003E\u0026nbsp;The workshops were facilitated by \u003Cstrong\u003EPascal Van Hentenryck\u003C\/strong\u003E, Director of Tech AI, the AI Hub at Georgia Tech and the NSF-funded AI Institute for Advances in Optimization (AI4OPT), and \u003Cstrong\u003ETim Brown\u003C\/strong\u003E, Academic Program Director for AI at Georgia Tech Professional Education. Through interactive working groups, participants assessed Panama\u2019s AI landscape, identified key challenges and opportunities, and helped lay the foundation for long-term national impact.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003E\u0026nbsp;In a public statement, Van Hentenryck noted:\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cblockquote\u003E\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cem\u003EWe had the honor to spend three days in Panama working on their National AI Strategy with \u003C\/em\u003ESENACYT\u003Cem\u003E, Georgia Tech Panama, and so many stakeholders who contributed their expertise, talent, and time. SENACYT launched a \u003Cem\u003ENational Artificial Intelligence Survey\u003C\/em\u003E\u2014available through July 31 via \u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/www.senacyt.gob.pa\u0022 target=\u0022_new\u0022 title=\u0022http:\/\/www.senacyt.gob.pa\u0022\u003Ewww.SENACYT.gob.pa\u003C\/a\u003E; \u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/arcg.is\/0X4jqr\u0022 title=\u0022https:\/\/arcg.is\/0X4jqr\u0022\u003ESURVEY\u003C\/a\u003E\u0026nbsp;and SENACYT\u2019s social media\u2014to collect ideas, questions, and concerns from residents across Panama. (The survey includes 16 questions and is open to all residents of Panama\u2014both nationals and foreigners. Its purpose is to gather perceptions, concerns, and opportunities to be considered in the national strategy.
