The professorship, established in 1999, recognizes an ECE untenured faculty member.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EHao started at ECE in 2020 as a postdoctoral fellow, then becoming an assistant professor in 2021. She is the director for the \u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/sharclab.ece.gatech.edu\/\u0022\u003ESoftware\/Hardware Co-Design for Intelligence and Efficiency (Sharc) Lab\u003C\/a\u003E, while also being part of the \u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/ece.gatech.edu\/directory\/tig\/vlsi\u0022\u003EVLSI Systems and Digital Design Technical\u003C\/a\u003E Interest Group.\u003Cbr\u003E\u003Cbr\u003E\u201cI\u2019m deeply honored to receive the ON Semiconductor Junior Professorship,\u0022 Hao said. \u0022It means a lot to have my work recognized in this way, especially as agile chip design becomes such a key part of our AI-driven future. I\u2019m excited and grateful for the chance to keep building, learning, and mentoring\u2014this support will help me do even more meaningful research and teaching.\u201d\u003Cbr\u003E\u003Cbr\u003EHao\u2019s research focuses on agile software\/hardware co-design, especially in the joint area of efficient hardware design and machine learning algorithms. She is also passionate about reconfigurable and high-efficiency computing and building useful electronic design automation tools.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EShe\u2019s received a number of awards and distinctions during her time at ECE, including the NSF CAREER Award and the \u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/ece.gatech.edu\/news\/2023\/12\/hao-earns-intel-rising-star-faculty-award\u0022\u003EIntel Rising Star Faculty\u003C\/a\u003E Award.
