Georgia Tech Retains Spot on Forbes’ New Ivies List

Georgia Tech has again been recognized among Forbes’ New Ivies, highlighting its favorable standing among executives and hiring managers.

The survey of more than 380 C-suite leaders, vice presidents, and other managers revealed the 10 public and private colleges that "are attracting the best and the brightest” and graduating students who are “outpacing most Ivy Leaguers in the eyes of employers."

Employers are increasingly valuing students from the list of new Ivies, with 38% saying they are more likely to hire graduates from non-Ivy public colleges than five years ago. The percentage of respondents who say they are less likely to hire Ivy League graduates increased from 33% to 37% since last year.

Responses indicate a perception that public university graduates enter the workforce with a better ability to innovate, adapt, and master new skills because of more highly collaborative environments on their campuses.

To be considered, Forbes evaluated colleges based on three criteria: size, selectivity, and test scores. The survey was distributed to subscribers of Forbes' C-suite newsletters.

Georgia Tech recently received a record 67,000 applications and continues to be one of the fastest-growing universities in the country. It also maintains its status as a top-value college with a strong return on investment.
