The Act provides funding to various programs to reduce reliance on foreign semiconductor production by enhancing the United States workforce, manufacturing and research capacity in the semiconductor industry. The plan for the CHIPS and Science Act has been to administer program funding over a five-year term, for which we are now well underway (~$50B in funding has been allocated under the Act). Georgia Tech has leveraged its competency in semiconductor and advanced packaging technology and has been a primary university partner in competing for R&D and Education and Workforce Development funding in a number of large federal funding program calls. This talk will highlight GT engagement and its role in helping to shape the US future in the semiconductor and advanced packaging technology sector.

About George White:
Dr. George White serves as the Senior Director in the Office of the Vice President for Interdisciplinary Research at the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, Georgia.
