Election to the NAE is among the highest professional recognitions for engineers and an honor bestowed on just 2,800 professionals worldwide.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003ENew members are nominated and voted on by NAE\u2019s existing membership. Facchetti is Georgia Tech\u2019s 49th member.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003E\u201cI was quite shocked and honored when I received the news.
