Students, faculty, and staff should configure their personal devices for a digital certificate via the \u003C\/em\u003E\u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/getonline.gatech.edu\/\u0022\u003EGeorgia Tech Wi-Fi Onboarding Portal\u003C\/a\u003E\u003Cem\u003E before December.\u003C\/em\u003E\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cem\u003E***\u003C\/em\u003E\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EThrough a self-service configuration process, Georgia Tech students, faculty, staff, and visitors can securely access the \u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/eduroam.org\/\u0022\u003Eeduroam\u003C\/a\u003E wireless network by downloading a unique digital certificate for each of their personal devices. Digital certificates will replace the current Institute network authentication process (via username and password credentials) by the end of 2025. Campus members are encouraged to configure their personal devices by visiting the \u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/getonline.gatech.edu\u0022\u003EGeorgia Tech Wi-Fi Onboarding Portal\u003C\/a\u003E before December.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003ETo complete the configuration for their personal devices, Georgia Tech users must first be enrolled in \u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/oit.gatech.edu\/two-factor-authentication\u0022\u003EDuo two-factor authentication\u003C\/a\u003E. The configuration can be performed on or off an Institute campus or instructional site.\u0026nbsp;\u003Cbr\u003E\u003Cbr\u003EDigital certificates for personal devices are valid for five years without interruption.\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003ESince 2015, eduroam has been available on campus. The network is maintained by the \u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/gatech.service-now.com\/home?id=kb_article_view\u0026amp;sysparm_article=KB0026531\u0022\u003EGeorgia Tech Local Area Walkup \u0026amp; Wireless Network\u003C\/a\u003E (LAWN), which provides visitors and the campus community access to Institute networks and computing resources. The eduroam network is the primary \u003Cem\u003E\u2014 \u003C\/em\u003Eand LAWN-recommended \u003Cem\u003E\u2014 \u003C\/em\u003Ewireless network for users on the Atlanta campus and instructional sites such as Georgia Tech-Europe.\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EOther LAWN-hosted wireless networks, including GTother and GTvisitor, will not be affected by the credential-based authentication sunset and will remain in service throughout the transition process.\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003ECompared to credential-based authentication, the certificate-based method offers significantly enhanced security against cyber threats, such as credential and account fraud. It also enhances the user experience by streamlining the overall login process.\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EThe configuration is also available for Georgia Tech-owned\/managed devices for up to one year without interruption.
