Georgia Tech academic and research faculty are encouraged to participate in shared governance of the Institute through faculty standing committees or the Faculty Executive Board. These governance bodies play a vital role in shaping Georgia Tech’s policies and priorities and provide an opportunity for faculty to contribute their expertise and represent their community.  

How to Nominate 

To nominate yourself or a colleague, complete the Georgia Tech Faculty Governance Election-Nomination Form 2025 by March 31, 2025. Nominees will be contacted to confirm their candidacy for election before being placed on the ballot. 

Key Information 

• Elections: Elections are scheduled for April 2025. 

• Committees: For descriptions of the Faculty Executive Board and the standing committees, see the Faculty Handbook Section 2: Faculty Executive Board and Standing Committees. 

• Nomination Review: The nominating committee will confirm nominees’ interest and strive to accommodate requests for specific committees. However, some elections are subject to requirements tied to certain seats. 

• Nominating Committee Team:
  • Chair of the nominating committee: Karen Feigh, professor and associate chair for research, Daniel Guggenheim School of Aerospace Engineering
  • Matthew Habib, principal research engineer, GTRI 

• Term: Elected faculty will serve a three-year term, from August 2025 through July 2028.
