  <title><![CDATA[Team Curious Wins Imagine Cup MashUp Prize]]></title>
  <body><![CDATA[<p>Team Curious, a Georgia Tech pairing of a College of Computingalumna and a mechanical engineering student, is getting worldwiderecognition after winning the MashUp category of the 2009 <a href="//imaginecup.com/Support/exploreimaginecup.aspx&quot;" target="&quot;_blank&quot;">Imagine Cup</a>competition, sponsored by Microsoft Corp. Team Curious is the only U.S.group to receive first place honors in one of the nine invitationalcategories. Winners were announced July 7.<br /><br />Members of <a href="//teamcurious.com/index.php&quot;" target="&quot;_blank&quot;">Team Curious</a> include Kathy Pham, a bachelor's and master'scomputing graduate, and Marc Pare, an undergraduate mechanicalengineering major. The program they developed aggregates informationfrom traditional news sources on the Web and ultimately presents anauthoritative view.<br /><br />Team Curious was selected from a total of 444 students from 149 teamsrepresenting 70 countries and regions around the world. The Imagine Cup2009 Worldwide Finals were held in Cairo, Egypt, and included thefollowing categories: Software Design, Embedded Development, GameDevelopment, IT Challenge, Robotics and Algorithm, MashUp, Photography,Short Film and Design.<br /></p>]]></body>
